A. G. Garr

A. G. and Lillian Garr may have been the first Apostolic Missionaries on foreign soil. They were part of the Burning Bush organization, serving a congregation in Los Angeles, before they were baptized in the Holy Ghost at Azusa. According to the September 1906 edition of the Apostolic Faith, Garr spoke in the Indian language when he was Spirit baptized. He even prayed for a native Indian in his own language.

By September, the Garrs had left the mission and were in Danville, Virginia on the way to India. The Garrs had a successful ministry in India. Later A. G. founded a great church in Charlotte, North Carolina.
